AI-Assisted Writing Policy
Global Interdisciplinary Research and Publishing Collective (GIRPC) Journal

Effective Date
The Global Interdisciplinary Research and Publishing Collective (GIRPC) Journal recognizes that Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies are increasingly being used in research, scholarly communication, and manuscript preparation. While such technologies may provide valuable assistance during the writing process, they do not replace the intellectual, ethical, or scientific responsibilities of human authors.
This policy establishes the principles governing the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in manuscripts submitted to the Journal. It applies to all authors, editors, reviewers, Editorial Board members, and individuals participating in the editorial and publication process.

Purpose
The purpose of this policy is to:

-
Promote transparency in the use of Artificial Intelligence.
-
Protect the integrity and credibility of scholarly publishing.
-
Clarify the responsibilities of authors.
-
Preserve originality and academic accountability.
-
Encourage the ethical and responsible use of emerging technologies.
The Journal supports technological innovation while maintaining that scholarly responsibility rests exclusively with human authors.

Guiding Principles
The use of Artificial Intelligence shall always be governed by the following principles:

-
Transparency
-
Accountability
-
Academic Integrity
-
Human Responsibility
-
Accuracy
-
Originality
-
Ethical Research Conduct
-
Respect for Intellectual Property
-
Confidentiality
These principles apply regardless of the Artificial Intelligence system or software used.

Acceptable Uses of Artificial Intelligence
Authors may use Artificial Intelligence technologies as supportive tools during manuscript preparation, provided that such use does not compromise the originality, accuracy, or integrity of the work. Examples of acceptable use include:

-
Improving grammar, spelling, punctuation, and syntax.
-
Enhancing clarity and readability.
-
Refining sentence structure and language.
-
Assisting with formatting.
-
Organizing ideas.
-
Summarizing an author's own work.
-
Translating text prepared by the authors.
-
Generating illustrative examples or outlines for internal drafting purposes.
The use of Artificial Intelligence for these purposes does not diminish the authors' responsibility for the final manuscript.

Unacceptable Uses of Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence shall not be used in a manner that compromises scholarly integrity.
The following practices are prohibited:

-
Listing an AI system as an author or co-author.
-
Presenting AI-generated content as original scholarly work without appropriate disclosure.
-
Fabricating or falsifying research findings.
-
Generating fictitious references, citations, datasets, or sources.
-
Creating or manipulating research results to misrepresent findings.
-
Producing fabricated peer-review reports or reviewer identities.
-
Using AI to conceal plagiarism or research misconduct.
-
Misrepresenting AI-generated interpretations as verified scientific conclusions.
Any misuse of Artificial Intelligence may constitute publication misconduct and may result in editorial action.

Human Responsibility
Artificial Intelligence systems cannot assume legal, ethical, or scholarly responsibility for published research.
Accordingly:

-
AI systems shall not be credited as authors.
-
AI systems cannot approve manuscripts.
-
AI systems cannot accept responsibility for research findings.
-
AI systems cannot disclose conflicts of interest.
-
AI systems cannot hold copyright.
All responsibility for the content of a manuscript remains with the human authors. Authors are accountable for:

-
the accuracy of all information;
-
the originality of the manuscript;
-
appropriate attribution of sources;
-
verification of AI-assisted outputs; and
-
compliance with the Journal's publication policies.

Disclosure of AI Assistance
Authors are encouraged to disclose significant use of Artificial Intelligence where such use has materially assisted the preparation of the manuscript. Where disclosure is appropriate, authors should briefly describe:

-
the Artificial Intelligence tool used;
-
the purpose for which it was used; and
-
the extent of its contribution to manuscript preparation.
Routine language editing or grammar correction using commonly available writing tools ordinarily does not require detailed disclosure unless such use substantially influenced the preparation of the manuscript.

Accuracy and Verification
Artificial Intelligence systems may produce inaccurate, incomplete, misleading, or fabricated information. Authors must independently verify all AI-assisted outputs before submission.
Authors remain solely responsible for:

-
factual accuracy;
-
data interpretation;
-
statistical analysis;
-
citations and references;
-
quotations;
-
scientific conclusions; and
-
compliance with ethical standards.
The Journal does not accept Artificial Intelligence as evidence of scholarly validity.

Confidentiality
Authors, reviewers, and editors should exercise caution when using Artificial Intelligence systems that process information through external platforms. Confidential manuscripts, unpublished research data, reviewer reports, editorial correspondence, or any other non-public material should not be entered into AI systems where doing so may compromise confidentiality, privacy, contractual obligations, or intellectual property rights.

Editorial Assessment
Where the Editorial Office becomes aware of substantial Artificial Intelligence assistance, editors may request additional clarification from the authors regarding the preparation of the manuscript. Failure to provide satisfactory clarification may affect editorial evaluation. Editorial assessment shall focus on the originality, integrity, transparency, and scholarly merit of the submitted work rather than on the mere use of Artificial Intelligence.

Misuse of Artificial Intelligence
The Journal considers the following to be serious breaches of publication ethics:

-
Concealing significant AI-generated scholarly content.
-
Fabricating research with AI.
-
Generating false citations or references.
-
Manipulating images or data to mislead readers.
-
Using AI to commit plagiarism.
-
Misrepresenting AI-generated analyses as independently verified research.
-
Submitting substantially AI-generated manuscripts without meaningful human intellectual contribution.
Where such conduct is established, the Journal may take editorial action in accordance with its Publication Ethics and Retraction & Correction Policies.

Editorial Measures
Where inappropriate use of Artificial Intelligence is identified, the Journal may:

-
request clarification;
-
require disclosure;
-
request revision;
-
reject the manuscript;
-
withdraw an accepted manuscript;
-
publish a correction;
-
retract a published article; or
-
take any other appropriate editorial action necessary to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.
The nature of the editorial response shall be proportionate to the seriousness of the issue.

Policy Review
Artificial Intelligence technologies continue to evolve rapidly. Accordingly, this policy shall be reviewed periodically to ensure continued alignment with developments in scholarly publishing, research integrity, legal requirements, and best editorial practice. The Journal reserves the right to amend this policy where necessary to maintain responsible and ethical scholarly publishing.

AI-Assisted Writing Policy Statement
The Global Interdisciplinary Research and Publishing Collective (GIRPC) Journal recognizes the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence in scholarly communication while affirming that academic integrity, intellectual responsibility, and ethical accountability remain fundamentally human obligations. Artificial Intelligence may serve as a tool to support research communication, but it cannot replace the originality, judgment, critical analysis, or responsibility expected of scholarly authors. The Journal is committed to fostering the responsible use of emerging technologies in a manner that upholds the credibility, transparency, and enduring integrity of the scholarly record.
